Job summary

Técnicas Reunidas in Chennai, India, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for power plant projects to drive FEED and detail engineering, and to design main electrical equipment.

You will review data sheets, prepare specifications, and work with cross-functional teams to meet IEC/IEEE/NFPA and other international codes while supporting PMT/PMC activities. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Min 10 years in power plant project engineering.
• Experience with combined cycle, coal-fired, biomass plants.
• Strong knowledge of generation technologies and generator ancillary systems.
• Familiar with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, IP, ISO standards.

Responsibilities

Summary of the position

Professionals with Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in POWER PLANT projects (Combined cycles, Coal Fired, Biomass, etc). Strong knowledge of generation technologies and generator ancillary systems (excitation systems, starting systems, governors, generation protection, synchronization, etc.) and their integration into the electrical system of the plant. Having good experience in FEED and Detail Engineering. Experience in the design of generator circuit breakers and isolated phase busducts Capable to review and develop technical specifications, data sheets, RFQ/RFPs and technical bid evaluation of electrical equipment and materials, mainly related with Power plant projects. Strong skills in single line drawings, schematics and control & protection systems. Good knowledge of International Codes & Standards like IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, IP, ISO. Capable to provide support on technical aspects for the proper development of complex Power Plant projects. Experience in PMT/PMC is desirable.

Technical Skills

• STG/GTG, generator circuit breakers and isolated phase busducts
• 10 years or more experience working in power plant projects in a detail engineering company
• Understanding of other disciplines
• Able to complete tasks in accordance with project requirements
• Able to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel
• Self-motivated and quick learner
• Excellent English language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Experience as electrical site engineer.
