Job summary

Roquette is seeking a Plant Production Supervisor for its Gokak Unit. In this role, you will oversee production operations, ensuring targets are met by coordinating with supervisors and operators. Your leadership will be crucial for maintaining safety standards, hygiene, and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate should have an engineering degree and 5–8+ years of experience in a similar industry, with strong skills in communication, decision-making, and team management. This role involves very rare business travel.

Job description

Plant Production Supervisor – Gokak Unit

Ensure desired production is achieved as per the planned target within existing resources, following SOPs and safety standards to prevent incidents and minimize resource usage.

Responsibilities

• Run the assigned shift operation safely by observing and rectifying unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure plant, equipment, and personnel hygiene and safety, housekeeping and food safety regulations.
• Adhere to daily management routines.
• Plan, schedule, and cascade production to the shop floor.
• Coordinate and guide operators and supervisors for improved plant operation.
• Achieve daily and monthly production plans.
• Monitor process parameters and ensure adherence across all three shifts.
• Troubleshoot processes to avoid downtime and ensure continuous plant operation.
• Focus on efficiencies, plant availability, reliability, OEE, and downtime analysis.
• Conduct brainstorming, root cause analysis (RCA), and apply problem‑solving methodologies.
• Engage in new process commissioning and process trials for improvement.
• Manage product loss reduction and water/effluent management effectively.
• Adhere to online quality parameters as per specification.
• Coordinate with inter‑departments to achieve production plans and required quality daily.
• Resolve/troubleshoot engineering related issues with maintenance, instrumentation, electrical, and Cogen departments daily.
• Work in a team to execute improvement projects.
• Ensure silo, warehouse management, and packaging of finished goods with quality.
• Monitor and improve EHS management system performance in the department.

Qualifications

• Good analytical, presentation, communication, and strong decision‑making skills.
• Very good interpersonal skills to establish harmonious relations with other departments and government authorities.
• Strong leadership skills to spearhead production.
• Capability to handle manpower.
• Engineering graduate with 5–8+ years of experience, preferably from a similar industry.
• Business Travel: 5% / very rare
