1. Production Management
- Lead overall production operations across Assembly, Quality, Purchase, Stores & logistics areas.
- Ensure achievement of daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
- Monitor and improve production efficiency, productivity, and capacity utilization.
- Drive adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
- Optimize resource utilization including manpower, machines, materials, and utilities.
2. Operational Excellence
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Industry initiatives.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), First Pass Yield (FPY), and throughput.
- Implement best manufacturing practices to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
3. Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Drive defect reduction initiatives and strengthen process controls.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for major quality concerns.
- Ensure achievement of PPM, rejection, and rework targets.
4. Safety, Health & Environment (EHS)
- Foster a strong safety culture across the plant.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and occupational health regulations.
- Drive zero-accident and zero-harm initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and risk assessments.
5. Production Planning & Control
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Review production plans and capacity requirements.
- Ensure inventory optimization and material availability.
- Mitigate production risks affecting overall business continuity.
6. People Leadership
- Lead and develop production managers, engineers, supervisors, and operators.
- Build a high-performance manufacturing culture.
- Drive employee engagement, succession planning, and capability development.
- Conduct performance reviews and talent development programs.
7. Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, Finance, and EHS teams.
- Present operational performance reports to senior management.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration for achieving organizational goals and Support new product introduction (NPI) and capacity expansion projects.
- Participate in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
- Ensure smooth production ramp-up for new programs.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams for process validation.
Experience
- 16-22+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing operations.
Minimum 5-8 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale production operations.
Experience in OEMs, EV Manufacturing, Auto Components, Tier-1 Suppliers, or Heavy Engineering industries preferred.
