Job summary

GESCO Healthcare seeks an experienced Plant Head to supervise the complete manufacturing operations of its medical device facility in India. The role covers production, quality, delivery, cost, and regulatory compliance with a focus on operational excellence and profitability.

The position requires leadership of cross-functional teams across Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Planning, plus hands-on knowledge of CNC/VMC/Swiss CNC and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• BE / BTech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• 1520 years of manufacturing experience, with minimum 5 years in Plant Head / Operations Head position.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end plant operations and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in medical devices, surgical instruments, precision engineering, aerospace, automotive or similar high-precision manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CNC / VMC / Swiss CNC, precision machining, welding, surface finishing and assembly.
• Good understanding of GD&T, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM and Kaizen.
• Experience with ERP/MRP, production planning, capacity planning and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, CAPA, NCR, RCA and audit management.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and people-management skills.
• Strong commercial mindset with demonstrated experience in cost reduction and operational improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end plant manufacturing and operations.
• Achieve production targets, On-Time Delivery (OTD), OEE, productivity and capacity utilization.
• Ensure high standards of product quality and process compliance.
• Drive reduction in rejection, rework, scrap and customer complaints.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize manpower, CNC, VMC, SWISS machines, materials and manufacturing capacity.
• Ensure effective production planning, inventory control and material availability.
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize machine availability.
• Drive manufacturing cost reduction and productivity improvement.
• Ensure compliance with applicable medical device quality systems, audits and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop teams across Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Planning and Stores.
• Establish departmental KPIs and ensure accountability for performance.
• Ensure strong EHS, safety, housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Prepare and manage plant budgets and contribute to overall plant profitability.
