Job summary

Birla Precision Technologies in India is seeking a seasoned Plant Head to lead overall plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing while achieving production, quality, delivery and profitability targets.

The role requires 15–20 years in manufacturing with at least 5 years in a Plant Head position and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. You will drive Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, and ERP/SAP-driven initiatives across functions and build a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 15–20 years in manufacturing with at least 5 years as Plant Head or equivalent.
• Experience leading Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, ERP/SAP implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end plant operations and achieve production targets.
• Drive productivity, quality, cost optimization and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, Factory Act and statutory requirements.
• Oversee production planning, maintenance, quality, SCM and inventory.
• Lead Lean, TPM, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and mentor plant teams and build a high-performance culture.
• Manage plant budgets, CAPEX and cost control.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Purpose

Lead overall plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective manufacturing while achieving production, quality, delivery and profitability targets.

1. Manage industrial relations with labour unions, lead wage settlement process for setting up productivity Norms

2. Maintain labour discipline and take appropriate actions in case of indiscipline

3. Deliver budgeted Gross margin of the plant
