Job summary

Orotex Chemicals India is seeking a hands-on Plant Engineer to design dies, fixtures, templates, and machine components aligned with production needs.

You will prepare 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks/AutoCAD, assemble BOMs and specifications, and support cost reduction and quality improvements on the shop floor.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop dies, fixtures, templates, machine components, and engineering items as per production requirements.
• Prepare and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare BOMs, technical specifications, comparison statements, and engineering documents.
• Study machines/components, take measurements, and support reverse engineering and local development.
• Handle fabrication, machining, assembly, machine modification, installation, commissioning, and engineering trials.
• Conduct trials of developed/modified components and implement necessary improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors for development, fabrication, machining, repair, and technical requirements; review drawings, samples, and supplied components.
• Support cost reduction, standardization, productivity, quality, safety, and machine performance improvements.
• Provide technical support to Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, and Electrical teams.
• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, reports, records, and proper document control/revision history.
• Verify vendor documents/materials against specifications and complete Vendor GRN entries.
• Maintain records of engineering projects, modifications, trials, and improvements.
• Possess basic knowledge of motors, sensors, control panels, machine wiring, and electrical drawings.
• Prepare RCA for machine breakdowns and support corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure engineering solutions are practical, manufacturable, maintainable, and suitable for shop-floor application.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands‑on experience in Plant Engineering / Tool & Fixture Development / Machine Modification.
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of fabrication, machining, assembly, and engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and machine controls.
• Good problem‑solving and RCA skills.
• Ability to work independently on shop‑floor engineering requirements.
• Good coordination skills with vendors and cross‑functional teams.
