Job summary

Safety Projects Pvt Ltd in Gujarat seeks a Plant Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting, including inventory, GST, and TDS compliance. You will work with ERP systems, prepare invoices, and ensure timely month-end closures.

The role requires 3+ years of manufacturing/plant accounting experience, strong numerical and analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software. On-site position with strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing/plant settings.
• Hands-on ERP experience and knowledge of GST and TDS processes are mandatory.
• Strong numerical accuracy and understanding of inventory costing.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accounting transactions per policy and GAAP.
• Prepare sales/purchase invoices, bills, and journal entries.
• Manage purchase and inventory accounting; monitor stock records.
• Maintain ledgers and reconcile with ERP system data.
• Process vendor payments and manage GST/TDS returns and compliance.
• Coordinate with internal teams and prepare period-end closes.
• Assist in fixed asset registers and capital accounting.
• Support audits with necessary documentation and controls.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

• Record and maintain all accounting transactions in accordance with applicable accounting principles and company policies.
• Prepare and process sales invoices, purchase invoices, bills, and other accounting entries.
• Handle purchase accounting and inventory accounting, including monitoring inventory costs and maintaining accurate stock-related records.
• Maintain and monitor inventory records and reconciliation with books of accounts.
• Perform vendor/creditor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.
• Ensure timely processing of payments to vendors, employees, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and file GST returns, including reconciliation of GST data and related compliance.
• Prepare and file TDS returns, ensure timely deductions and payments, and maintain related records.
• Ensure compliance with other applicable statutory requirements, including Professional Tax.
• Maintain general ledgers and ensure accuracy of books of accounts.
• Manage accounting activities through ERP/accounting software, including transaction entries, reporting, reconciliations, and other finance-related processes.
• Assist in capital asset management and maintain fixed asset registers/ledgers.
• Prepare and finalize month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounts within defined timelines.
• Support audits and provide required financial information and documentation.
• Maintain financial security and accuracy by following established internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders regarding accounting and financial matters.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems is mandatory; experience in accounting modules such as Purchase, Sales, Inventory, GST, and Finance will be preferred.
• Practical experience in GST and TDS calculation, reconciliation, payment, and return filing is required.
• Strong experience in inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, inventory costing, and monitoring inventory-related transactions.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, statutory compliance, and financial controls.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet strict deadlines.
• Thorough knowledge of GST, TDS, Professional Tax, and other applicable statutory compliances.
• Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
