Job summary

Capacite in Navi Mumbai seeks a Senior Planner to prepare master schedules, analyze critical paths, and manage budgets for construction projects. The role involves coordinating with site teams, procurement, estimation, and consultants to ensure timely delivery and adherence to milestones.

The incumbent will use Primavera P6 or MS Project to track progress, update cost plans, and provide monthly progress reports to senior management. Strong coordination and negotiation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Master Schedule and baseline in consultation with project team
• Perform Critical Path analysis and resource allocation (manpower, equipment, materials) to meet schedule
• Develop project budgets (overall and annual)
• Monitor and update cost plans and cash flows; consolidate results
• Issue Quarterly Plans and track constraints and risks (Time, Cost, Quality, Safety)
• Generate Monthly Plans and Progress Reports for Senior Management; identify delays and corrective actions
• Utilise Primavera P6 or MS Project to track progress and adjust schedules
• Coordinate with Site, Contracts, Procurement and Estimation to ensure availability of Contractors and materials via RFIs
• Coordinate with Architects/Consultants for drawings and approvals based on pre-execution schedule
• Involve in decision making for materials, methodologies, work specs; cost control planning
• Monitor progress and milestones; analyze gaps between planned vs actual; prepare MIS reports
• Oversee Junior Planning Engineers and Document Controllers; manage delays and mitigation plans
• Engage in contractual negotiations such as EOT, price escalation, and amendments as needed

Job Roles & Responsibilities

• Preparation of a Master Schedule, establishing Project Baseline, in consultation with the project team and ensure that all concerned are aware of plans
• Critical Path analysis and work out the resource requirement/allocation (Man power, equipment, material etc. so as to fulfil the construction schedule prepared as above)
• Work out the financial budget (project budget as well as annual budget)
• Monitoring, adjusting and updating the cost plan and cash flows accordingly and the consolidation of these results.
• Releasing Quarterly Plans, capturing and tracking the various Constraints and mitigating the Risks involved, in terms of Time, Cost, Quality and Safety. Study the impact of alternative approaches to work.
• Releasing Monthly Plan and preparation of Progress Report for the Senior Management. Identify Delays and provide Corrective Actions to achieve the milestone.
• Use scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to track progress and adjust schedules as necessary.
• Co-ordinate with the Site, Contracts, Procurement and Estimation Team to ensure the availability of Contractor and Material before the commencement of work through RFI (Request for Information) Management.
• Coordination with the Architect/Consultants to finalize Drawings/ Statutory Approvals based on Pre-Execution schedule.
• Involvement in Decision making for selection of Materials, Methodology, Work Specification, budget Cost Control
• Planning Implementation, Drawings Scrutiny, Review of Bill of Quantities, Construction Area, Analysis Reports, etc and Monitoring & Controlling.
• Tracking and Monitoring of the project progress and milestones .
• Analyse the gaps between the planned Vs actual and highlights the areas needing attention for action of the project team.
• Preparation of MIS reports to assist the project manager/ senior management in Monitoring of works, resource utilization, productivity studies etc.
• Resource Productivity Control and direct cost control
• Handling and monitoring team of Junior Planning Engineers and Document Controller
• Delay Analysis of the project and mitigation plan for delays
• Contractual negotiations such as EOT, price escalation and new amendments if any
