Job summary

Riglogistics is seeking a Logistics Planner to coordinate daily transportation operations for Canadian shipments. You will work with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely pickup and delivery, monitor progress, and resolve delays.

The role focuses on route optimization, dispatch planning, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards, contributing to cost reductions and service quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Logistics Planner, Dispatcher, or similar role in trucking or logistics.
• Knowledge of Canadian logistics operations and freight processes.
• Strong route planning and load optimization understanding.

• Maintain accurate records of shipments, schedules, and operational reports.
• Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to improve delivery performance and reduce operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Handle urgent operational issues and provide quick solutions to maintain service quality.
• Analyze logistics data and suggest improvements for route planning and workflow efficiency.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience as a Logistics Planner, Transportation Coordinator, Dispatcher, or similar role in the logistics/trucking industry.
• Knowledge of Canadian logistics operations, transportation networks, and freight processes.
• Strong understanding of route planning, scheduling, and load optimization.
• Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch software, or logistics platforms is preferred.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience with Canadian trucking, freight brokerage, or fleet operations will be an advantage.
