Job summary

Saipem in Chennai, India, seeks a senior mechanical engineer with 10-15 years of plant layout and piping design experience in Oil & Gas, Refineries or Petrochemicals. You will lead a team of engineers, designers and drafters, coordinating BID, FEED and Detail Engineering activities to meet contract requirements.

You will manage piping material take-off, specifications, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations, review 3D models, ensure quality checks, monitor progress and man-hour budgets, and

Qualifications

• 10-15 years in Plant Layout and Design for Oil & Gas/Refineries/Petrochemicals.
• Exposure to FEED and Detail Engineering phases.
• Experience leading engineers/designers/drafters.

Responsibilities

• Define Activities and Piping Deliverables; set up schedule and coordinate with other disciplines during BID, FEED and Detail Engineering Phases.
• Manage Piping Material Take off, Specification, Material requisition, and Technical Bid Evaluation for procurement.
• Oversee 3D Model Reviews and ensure workflow, interfaces, and quality checks.
• Ensure piping efficiency, monitor project progress and man-hour budget.
• Support contract scope changes as the project evolves.

Work Experience : 10-15 years in Plant Layout and Design of Oil & Gas/Refineries/Petrochemicals

Technical Skills:

• Should be a Team Leader/player and effectively Manage Team of Engineers/Designers/Draftsman.
• Define Activities and Piping Deliverables, set up schedule and co-ordinate activities with other disciplines during BID phase, FEED Phase and Detail Engineering Phase as per the requirements of Contract.
• Manage Piping Material Take off, Specification, Material requisition, Technical Bid Evaluation for procurement and vendor follow up.
• Manage 3D Model Reviews
• Guarantee proper Work flow, interfaces, quality checks and approval of piping project documents.
• Conform Piping Efficient working, Project Progress, monitor and control man-hour budget.
• Support project effort with identification of changes to the contract scope
