Job summary

Adani Capital Pvt Ltd in India seeks a Lead - Piping with rich experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries to head piping design across feasibility, FEED, detailed engineering and construction.

You will interface with project management and discipline teams, review drawings, specs, and material take-offs, and ensure compliance with project scope and industry standards. Strong 3D modeling, stress analysis and BIM knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Educational background in mechanical engineering with preferred master's degree.
• 16–20 years total experience with 5 years in a similar lead piping role.
• Experience in Chemical/Process Plant piping engineering and offshore design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a piping project team through FEED, Detailed Engineering and Construction.
• Review and approve drawings, specs and material selections to standards.

Lead - Piping Responsibilities

Should have rich experience as Piping Lead in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries and have executed projects as Lead during various stages of the project – Feasibility, FEED, Detailed Engineering and Construction. Knowledge about offshore design is an added advantage. Lead a piping project team executing all piping scope items related to the overall control and safety design of a project. Act as the primary interface with project management and various discipline technical teams Ensure full compliance of the project piping design with the requirements specified on project design scope and on the relevant industry standards Possess good knowledge on plant pay-out, piping layout, piping specifications, pipe support, piping stress analysis etc. Review and approve the piping drawings, construction, and material specifications to ensure that the design and constructions conform to standards and company requirements Review and approve special study reports, design calculations and design specifications Review and approve equipment/ piping materials specifications and selection, construction specifications, testing and commissioning procedures. Prepare and check the material take-offs and Bill of Material required by other disciplines. Evaluates bids & prepares technical bid evaluations & provides input to purchase recommendation Prepares bid clarification questions and handles responses, and coordinates technical aspects of bid clarification meetings Have worked in pipe fabrication, installation and testing at site. Have extensive knowledge in developing Construction Work Packages. Have extensive knowledge in plot plan development, plot plan optimization and conversant with OISD & Piping Industry Practices. Knowledge of 3-D modelling of the plant, piping system and piping supports. Capable to manage and review the engineering document submitted by EPC Contractors, Licensors & Vendors for all piping job including Piping Design, Piping Stress, Piping material, Valves and Equipment Design Capable to manage, monitor and assist the Contractor Piping Hook up team during the project execution period to ensure all the activities are completed with the technical requirement, safety and project schedule. Assist construction team to solve any construction problem like interconnect piping between various modules, vendor packages etc. Vendor drawing review Multi discipline co-ordination.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: B.E/ B.Tech in Mechanical engineering, from a reputed institute/ university.
• Masters degree in the same is preferred.
• Experiences: Minimum 16-20 Years of total work experience with 5 years relevant experience in the similar role in a large / mid sized organisation Experience related to Chemical/Process Plant Piping Engineering.
• Skills: 3D modeling, Stress analysis, AutoCAD, Project management, QMS, Equipment layout, BIM, Scrum, Piping engineering, performance measurement. Conversant with Microsoft Office, PDS, SPR and PDMS. Have knowledge about modular execution, module fabrication, module shipment & transfer etc. Good working knowledge on various piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI etc.) Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, procedures and specifications. Well acquainted with Over Dimensional Criteria (ODC) for equipment and modules.
