Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Engineer (Layout) with 10-15 years of experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, chemical, LNG, power, or industrial projects sector. The candidate will be responsible for developing piping layouts, equipment arrangements, plot plans, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, safety requirements, and constructability considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Piping Layout Engineering
- Develop and review plot plans, equipment layouts, piping routing studies, and 3D model layouts.
- Prepare piping general arrangement (GA) drawings and piping layout drawings.
- Ensure optimum piping routing considering safety, accessibility, operability, maintenance, and constructability.
- Coordinate piping layouts with process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Perform piping layout reviews and model reviews with project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Review P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and vendor drawings for piping layout development.
- Provide technical inputs for piping design and stress requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, constructability, and safety studies.
- Resolve interdisciplinary clashes and optimize plant layout.
3D Modeling & CAD
- Develop and review piping models using industry-standard software.
- Generate piping isometrics, layout drawings, and support drawings from 3D models.
- Conduct model interference checks and coordinate model updates.
Project Execution
- Support engineering deliverables as per project schedules.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Assist in material take-offs and quantity estimation.
- Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
Site Support
- Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Review site queries and recommend practical solutions.
- Support field engineering activities and as-built documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of experience in piping layout engineering for EPC, refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, LNG, power, or industrial projects.
