Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Lead Engineer to coordinate Arrangement, Piping, and Civil disciplines for turbine hall scope in a nuclear/major industrial project. You will ensure design consistency, safety, and regulatory compliance while managing interfaces and schedules.

You will drive management meetings, track milestones, and report to the Project Engineering Manager, contributing to continuous improvement and effective change management in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in mechanical or civil engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years in power plant engineering, preferably nuclear or major industrial projects.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple disciplines in a complex project environment.
  • Broad knowledge of Plant Layout, Piping and Valves, Civil Engineering and Steel Structures.
  • Fluent English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the Arrangement, Piping, and Civil Lead Engineers within the turbine hall scope.
  • Ensure overall design consistency and integration of nuclear safety, constructability, accessibility, maintainability, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex technical interfaces between disciplines.
  • Establish and facilitate daily and weekly management meetings for the disciplines.
  • Track deliverable progress, identify blockers, and prioritize short-term actions.
  • Consolidate Lead Engineer inputs for the Engineering Master Time Schedule.
  • Track project milestones, including Design Reviews, Design Freeze, and critical document releases.
  • Establish and manage project KPIs.
  • Identify schedule and cost deviations and propose mitigation plans to the Project Engineering Manager.
  • Provide consolidated reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.
  • Prepare materials for design reviews and project gateways.
  • Contribute to the management of variations, claims, and scope changes.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, nuclear safety, and EHS processes.
  • Ensure that NCRs, FSIs, and DCRs are addressed.
  • Ensure the application of Design Freeze and Change Management processes.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Exercise functional authority over the Arrangement, Piping, and Civil Lead Engineers.
  • Recommend to the Project Engineering Manager key decisions affecting schedule, costs, or design.

Requirements
