PHARMACY ASSISTANT / PHARMACY AIDE
Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing drugs according to a prescription issued by a doctor. If the prescribed medicines are not available, arrange them from in‑house pharmacies under a 100% prescription, consulting the doctor regarding any substitutions.
Responsibilities
- Cross check issuing medicines with bills concerning patient name, item name, quantity, expiry, and acknowledge the bill.
- Check stock availability, raise indents for required stock, and coordinate with the pharmacy and suppliers.
- Customer service: counsel patients and customers on health, medication reactions; maintain relationships with customers and doctors; maintain free home‑delivery register and follow up on timely deliveries; handle inbound calls focused on drug information, patient counseling, and free home‑delivery orders; address patient queries regarding drug therapy.
- Handle cash at billing counter as required.
- Cold‑chain management: store drugs under appropriate refrigeration and security; prepare bills in computer and collect cash; verify quantity, MRP, batch number, and expiry of received items from stores before data entry.
- Inventory management and sales: enter stock into computer; print receipts from the store for cross‑checking issues; import/export stock from nearby pharmacies through Branch Transfers (BT); if stock is unavailable, communicate with the Distribution Center (DC), visit the DC, and collect necessary stock based on emergency; maintain record for out‑of‑stock items and follow up; ensure 100% physical stock is tallied by category twice a week; perform daily rack‑wise verification of fast‑moving items; ensure proper hand‑over and take‑over of shifts.
- Focus on sales and strive to attain pharmacy targets; perform other tasks as assigned by the in‑charge.
