Job summary

Apollo Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant / Pharmacy Aide to support the pharmacist in dispensing medicines and providing patient guidance in Goa. You will verify bills, manage stock, and coordinate home delivery while maintaining high service standards.

The role involves stock checks, cash handling, and ensuring proper storage of medicines, with emphasis on patient education and efficient order processing. Prior pharmacy retail exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility for candidates with Non‑Pharmacy qualification with relevant Pharmacy Retail experience ONLY.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing drugs according to prescriptions and consult with doctors for substitutions.
  • Cross check medicines with bills for patient name, items, quantity, expiry.
  • Check stock availability and raise stock indent as needed.
  • Counsel patients on health, medicine effects, and maintain relations with customers/doctors.
  • Maintain home delivery register and follow up deliveries to customers.
  • Handle inbound calls for drug information, patient education, and free home delivery orders.
  • Handle cash at the billing counter when required.
  • Store drugs under proper refrigeration and security conditions.
  • Prepare bills in computer and verify quantity, MRP, batch number, expiry date.
  • Enter stock data in computer and coordinate with stores for stock transfers.
  • Ensure accurate physical stock tallies and daily rack‑wise checks.
  • Focus on sales and strive to attain pharmacy targets.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the in‑charge.

Job description

PHARMACY ASSISTANT / PHARMACY AIDE

Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing drugs according to a prescription issued by the doctor. In case the prescribed medicines are not available, arrange the same from the in‑house pharmacies for the honor of 100% prescription. Substitution of medicines is to be consulted with the doctor.

  • Cross check the issuing medicines with the bill concerning patient name, items name, quantity, expiry and acknowledge the bill.
  • Check the availability of stock in the pharmacy and raise the indent for the stock based on availability.
  • Customer Service – counsel the patients/customers on health, reaction of medicines, and maintain good relations with customers/doctors.
  • Maintain the free home delivery register and follow‑up the medicines deliveries to customers in time.
  • Handle all inbound calls primarily focusing on drug information, patient counseling/education, and free home delivery orders. Handle patient queries and issues concerning drug therapy and drug information.
  • Handle cash at the billing counter as and when required.
  • Cold Chain Management – store drugs under proper refrigeration and security conditions.
  • Prepare bills in computer and collect the cash. Check quantity, MRP, batch number, and date of expiry of the received items from stores before entering into computer.
  • Inventory Management & Sales – enter stocks in computer and take the printout of receipt from stores (RS) for cross‑checking with items issue list from stores based on stock availability.
  • Import or export stock from nearby pharmacies through BT (Branch Transfers). If stock is not available at nearby pharmacies, communicate with the DC – in charge and visit the DC to collect necessary stock based on urgent needs.
  • Maintain records for non‑stock items and follow‑up.
  • Ensure 100% physical stock is tallied according to category (Tablets, Syrups, Injections, Fluids, Ointments, Liquids, Capsules, Powders, Drops, Surgicals, and Miscellaneous) twice a week.
  • Daily rack‑wise verification of fast‑moving items.
  • Ensure shift hand‑over and take‑over before leaving the work area.
  • Focus on sales and strive to attain the pharmacy target.
  • Perform any other job assigned by the in‑charge as per exigencies of work.
