Job summary

BMC Helix is seeking an experienced Performance Engineer to drive performance testing and engineering for its next‑generation Digital Services and Operations Management products. You will contribute to scalable solutions, analyze performance data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SaaS applications.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years in performance testing/engineering, strong skills with JMeter, and solid knowledge of monitoring, cloud, and programming.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in Performance Testing/Engineering.
• Proficient with JMeter and distributed testing, plus familiarity with other load testing tools.
• Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Cloud/DevOps exposure with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD tooling.
• Programming/scripting in Java, Python, or Groovy; SQL knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Performance Testing and Engineering activities, including data analysis, triage, and monitoring for performance and scalability.
• Be a quality-focused team member with creativity and strong debugging/analytical skills.
• Learn and adapt to new BMC products and technologies as needed for releases.
• Tackle complex problems requiring deep data-driven evaluation.
• Ensure data is available for root cause analysis and timely problem resolution.

BMC Helix is looking for an experienced Performance Engineer to join us to do performance testing and engineering of the complex applications, using J-meter, AI tools, etc.

• Participate in Performance Testing and Engineering activities and should be able to perform performance data analysis, triage performance issues, and monitoring focused on performance and scalability.
• A team member who is passionate about quality and demonstrates creativity and innovation in enhancing the product, with excellent problem solving, debugging, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new BMC products and technologies as required for a successful release delivery.
• Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Critiques the initial problem analysis and ensures that all data necessary for problem resolution is available in a timely manner.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• Around 4-5 years of overall experience in Performance Testing/Engineering
• Performance Testing & Engineering: Preferred tool: JMeter (Distributed Testing, JSR223/Groovy, Parameterization, Correlation, Assertions, Timers, Non-GUI Execution, HTML Reporting), good to have knowledge on: LoadRunner, Grafana k6, Gatling, Locust, BlazeMeter, REST/SOAP API Performance Testing, Scalability Testing, Capacity Planning, Workload Modeling.
• Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK Stack, JVM Monitoring, Thread Dump & Heap Dump Analysis.
• Cloud & DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, OCI, OpenShift, AWS, Jenkins, Git, GitHub Actions, Maven, CI/CD Pipelines.
• Programming & Scripting: Java, Python, JavaScript, Groovy (JSR223), Shell/Bash Scripting, SQL.
• AI Tools: Cursor AI, Claude AI, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, AI-assisted Performance Analysis, Test Script Generation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Test Data Generation.
