Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited in Madurai (Work From Office) seeks an experienced software tester focused on API performance. You will design, execute and optimize load tests for REST, SOAP and GraphQL services, analyze results and collaborate with development teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with JMeter, k6, Gatling or LoadRunner, and can script test scenarios in Java, Python or JavaScript. Familiarity with CI/CD and cloud load testing is required.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in software testing with API performance focus.
• Hands-on with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling, LoadRunner).
• Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs and HTTP protocols.
• Scripting in Java, Python, Groovy or JavaScript for test logic.
• Experience with CI/CD integration and cloud-based load generation.
• Ability to analyze metrics like p90/p95/p99 latency and throughput.

Skill Requirements

• - 6- 10 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on performance/load testing of APIs.
• - Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, LoadRunner, or similar.
• - Strong understanding of REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs, HTTP protocols, and request/response handling.
• - Experience scripting and parameterizing performance tests, including correlation, handling authentication (OAuth, JWT, API keys), and dynamic data handling.
• - Proficiency in analyzing performance metrics: response time, throughput, error rate, latency, percentiles (p90/p95/p99).
• - Experience with APM and monitoring tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, Prometheus) for deep-dive analysis.
• - Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and how they impact performance testing strategy.
• - Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• - Familiarity with cloud-based load generation and distributed load testing setups.
• - Basic scripting/programming skills (Java, Python, Groovy, or JavaScript) for custom test logic and result parsing.
• - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex performance data and identify root causes.
• - Excellent communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
