Opus Technologies is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to design and execute extensive performance workloads across core modules, collect latency percentiles, throughput, and resource telemetry to establish baselines.
The role operates in an Agile team, collaborating with QE, PM, and Eng to integrate performance gates into releases, mentor engineers, and drive optimization across microservices and cloud-native components.
About the role -
As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing performance workloads (baseline, peak, burst/stress, endurance/soak, dependency-latency, event-backlog, and batch-volume tests) across Widget/token initialization, Benefit Eligibility, Airports API, Lounge/Fast Track fulfillment, and critical vendor adapters. You will build a reusable performance-testing suite, capture throughput, latency percentiles (p50/p90/p95/p99), error/retry rates, and resource/telemetry metrics, and establish approved performance baselines using production evidence or SLOs.
Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate with the QE Platform/Test Lead, Product Management, Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to integrate performance gates into the release process. In addition, you will take ownership of the team's performance strategy, analyze saturation points and recovery behavior, mentor engineers on performance practices, and continuously improve efficiency and engineering standards.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
