• Collect and verify timekeeping data, and calculate wages.
• Withhold deductions (insurance, retirement) and ensure tax withholdings comply with laws.
• Maintain up-to-date payroll records including personal info and pay history.
• Ensure payroll practices comply with current labor laws and tax regulations.
• Address payroll-related queries and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
• Generate payroll reports for management and finance.
• Compute final settlements.

Role & responsibilities

1. 1. Collect and verify timekeeping data, calculate wages.
2. 2. Calculate and withhold various deductions (e.g., insurance, retirement) and ensure all tax withholdings are accurate and compliant with federal and state laws.
3. 3. Keep employee and payroll records up-to-date, including personal information, pay history, and changes in employment status.
4. 4. Stay informed about and ensure all payroll practices adhere to current labor laws and tax regulations.
5. 5. Address and resolve any payroll-related issues or questions from employees and reconcile discrepancies in payroll data.
6. 6. Generate payroll reports for internal stakeholders, such as management and the accounting or finance departments.
