Job summary

Caparo Engineering India Ltd in Greater Delhi Area seeks a Paint Shop Manager to lead on-site operations in the paint shop, plan schedules, supervise staff, ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance. You will optimize material use and inventory of paints and consumables, and coordinate with production, maintenance and quality teams to meet targets.

Experience in automotive or engineering paint shops, knowledge of spray painting or powder coating, 5S/lean, and familiarity with ERP

Qualifications

• Experience in managing production processes and workflows in paint shops or similar manufacturing environments.
• Inventory control and stock planning for paints, chemicals, and consumables.
• Ability to understand requirements, address concerns, and support high-quality outcomes for stakeholders.
• Clear and professional communication, coordination with cross-functional teams, and reporting.
• Preferred qualifications in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience in automotive or engineering paint shops with knowledge of painting processes and safety/environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, implement 5S and lean practices, and basic computer applications.

Role Description

The Paint Shop Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Delhi Area. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the paint shop, including planning and coordinating painting schedules, managing workflow, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards. The Paint Shop Manager will supervise paint shop staff, monitor equipment performance, ensure optimal use of materials, and maintain inventory levels for paints and consumables. The role includes collaborating with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet delivery targets, resolve process issues, and improve efficiency. The Paint Shop Manager will also interact with internal stakeholders and customers as needed to address requirements, ensure a positive experience, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Operations Management skills, including experience managing production processes, workflows, and performance metrics in a paint shop or similar manufacturing environment.
• Candidates should possess Store Management skills, including inventory control, material handling, stock planning, and coordination with procurement for paints, chemicals, and consumables.
• Candidates should possess Customer Service and Customer Experience skills, with the ability to understand requirements, address concerns, and support high-quality outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, prepare reports, and provide instructions to shop-floor staff.
• Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering, or related field are preferred.
• Experience in automotive or engineering paint shops, knowledge of painting processes (e.g., spray painting, powder coating), and familiarity with safety and environmental regulations will be beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, implement 5S and lean practices, and use basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems) is an advantage.
