Job summary

India Nippon Electricals is seeking a dedicated Packaging Specialist to design, develop, validate and implement packaging solutions that ensure product stability, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with production, QA, and marketing to align packaging with our brand strategy and product requirements.

The role involves optimizing packaging to reduce costs, improve utilisation, and ensure compliance with local and global guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and developing packaging solutions.
  • Familiarity with packaging standards (ISTA, ASTM).
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to reduce costs through design optimization and material standardisation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of packing solutions for Supplier, WIP and Customer.
  • Standardise packing specifications based on product dimensions, weight, fragility and logistics.
  • Develop packaging drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Conduct packing trials and validation for transportation, stacking, handling and storage.
  • Ensure packing meets customer, regulatory and Quality standards.
  • Coordinate for packing approval with customers and Suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce packaging cost through design optimisation and material standardisation.
  • Improve packing utilisation to reduce freight and storage costs.
  • Plan and monitor returnable packaging circulation with customer and suppliers.

Job description

  • Design and development of packing solution for Supplier, WIP and Customer.
  • Standardise packing specification based on product dimension, weight, fragility and logistic requirement.
  • Develop Packaging drawings, specification and work instructions.
  • Conduct packing trials and validation for transportation, stacking, handling and storage.
  • Ensure packing meets customer, regulatory and Quality standards.
  • Coordinate for packing approval with customers and Suppliers
  • Identify opportunities to reduce packaging cost through design optimisation and material standardisation.
  • Improve packing utilisation to reduce freight and storage costs.
  • Monitor packaging consumption and minimise losses.
  • Plan and monitor returnable packaging circulation with customer and suppliers.
  • Maintain packaging standards, specification and engineering change record.
  • Ensure compliance with customer packing guidelines and internal standards
  • Identifying, evaluating and implementing new trends & technologies in packaging & printing; developing new packaging concepts.
  • Collaborate with R&D, procurement, quality, manufacturing, marketing and supplier teams to deliver packaging aligned with product and brand requirements.
  • Develop and validate new packaging materials and formats that ensure product stability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives, sustainability programs, and packaging standardization projects.
  • Stay updated on packaging trends, materials science, and regulatory requirements (local and global) to drive innovation.
  • Inspecting and testing the Packaging stages, clear handover of acceptable quality norms to QA and Operation dept for further action.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in packaging design software (e.g., TOPS, CAPE, ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of packaging testing standards and procedures (ISTA, ASTM).
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and machinery.
  • Supply chain and logistics familiarity.
  • Sustainability and regulatory compliance understanding.

Familiarity in both primary and secondary packaging solution like Carton box (Including Gunny boxes) Metal pallets, Reusable (PP boxes), Volvo boxes (Collapsible Boxes), Plastic crates, VCI / Polythene bag, Carton + Skid, Wooden box + Plywood boxes, Bulk + skid, Labelling
