Job summary

Zepto in Pune is seeking a Packaging Lab Manager to lead the material testing laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely results for incoming and in-process packaging materials in line with regulatory standards.

You will oversee daily lab operations, conduct and supervise tests (moisture, burst strength, GSM, Cobb, tear, vacuum leak, jerk, permeability), maintain records, and train technicians while upholding safety and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a packaging or materials testing lab in FMCG industry.
• Strong knowledge of packaging standards and testing protocols.
• Proficient in lab instruments and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily lab activities including sample testing, equipment calibration, and documentation.

• Ensure adherence to ISO, ASTM, TAPPI, and other relevant standards.
• Maintain accurate records of test results, SOPs, calibration logs, and audit trails.
• Train and supervise lab technicians; ensure safety and 5S practices are followed.
• Evaluate packaging material suppliers based on test results and quality performance.
• Recommend improvements in packaging design and material selection based on test data.
