Bajaj Consumer Care is seeking a Packaging Quality Assurance lead to oversee end-to-end QA across New Product Development, supplier quality, artwork verification and technology transfer. The role ensures robust packaging quality systems, vendor capability, mould management and successful commercialization of new packaging components across BCCL manufacturing locations.

  • Education: PG Diploma / Degree in Packaging from IIP or CIPET (mandatory).
  • MSc Chemistry / MPharm / BTech with IIP/CIPET qualification may also be considered.

  • Drive technology transfer of packaging components from R&D to plants.
  • Coordinate mould development, FAT/SAT, validation and lifecycle management.
  • Plan and execute packaging change controls, FMEA, risk assessments and validation protocols.
  • Manage packaging vendor quality program including qualification, audits and CAPA.
  • Conduct supplier, converter and manufacturing audits to ensure BCCL standards.
  • Review packaging artworks, proofs, colour standards and shade cards before release.
  • Develop packaging specifications, SOPs and quality standards for packaging materials.
  • Identify alternate packaging materials, technologies to improve quality and cost.
  • Investigate packaging-related quality complaints and implement CAPA.
  • Support cross-functional teams for packaging projects.
  • Monitor packaging quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Job description

Role

Responsible for end-to-end Packaging Quality Assurance across new product development, supplier quality, artwork verification, change management and technology transfer. The role ensures robust packaging quality systems, vendor capability, mould management and successful commercialization of new packaging components across BCCL manufacturing location

Key Responsibilities

Lead packaging quality activities for New Product Development (NPD), packaging changes and commercialization.

Drive technology transfer of packaging components from Corporate R&D to manufacturing plants.

Coordinate mould development, qualification, FAT/SAT, validation and mould lifecycle management.

Plan and execute packaging change controls, FMEA, risk assessments and validation protocols.

Manage packaging vendor quality program including qualification, audits, performance monitoring and CAPA closure.

Conduct periodic supplier, converter and manufacturing audits to ensure compliance with BCCL standards.

Review and verify packaging artworks, print proofs, colour standards and shade cards before release.

Develop and maintain packaging specifications, SOPs and quality standards for all packaging materials.

Identify alternate packaging materials, technologies and suppliers to improve quality, continuity and cost competitiveness.

Investigate packaging-related quality complaints and implement effective CAPA.

Support cross-functional teams (R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, Marketing and Supply Chain) for packaging projects.

Monitor packaging quality KPIs, drive continuous improvement and support network quality meetings.

Experience:
  • 58 years of experience in packaging development, packaging QA or packaging technology in FMCG/personal care.
  • Hands-on experience in mould management, validations, FAT, change control, FMEA and tech transfer.
  • Experience in vendor development, supplier audits, packaging complaint investigations and CAPA.
  • Knowledge of SAP QM and packaging specifications preferred.
Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • PG Diploma / Degree in Packaging from IIP or CIPET (mandatory).
  • M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Pharm / B.Tech with IIP/CIPET qualification may also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, rigid plastics, mould technology, printing processes and artwork systems.
