Packfora is seeking a Packaging Development professional to lead end-to-end packaging projects from concept to commercialization in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes consumer-centric design, sustainability, and robust technical execution across materials, formats, and digital validation.

The ideal candidate will translate consumer insights into differentiated packaging concepts, work with Marketing, Insights, R&D, and Design teams, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development from concept through prototyping, validation, scale-up, and commercialization.
• Develop packaging specifications covering materials, dimensions, performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Apply Quality by Design (QbD) to identify critical requirements, risks, and controls early in development.
• Drive packaging performance testing, trials, validation, and technical problem solving.
• Translate consumer needs and trends into innovative packaging solutions.
• Partner with Marketing, Insights, R&D, and Design teams to create differentiated packaging concepts.
• Apply design-led approaches to improve usability and consumer experience.
• Leverage consumer testing to validate concepts and optimize solutions.
• Integrate digital-first validation and ecommerce simulation to speed up decisions.
• Maintain alignment with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Identify new materials and technologies with suppliers and manage supplier evaluation and qualification.
• Embed sustainability considerations across materials, formats, recyclability, and lifecycle thinking.
• Drive agile development to improve speed to market while maintaining quality.

The Packaging Development role will lead the development and commercialization of innovative, consumer-centric, sustainable, and technically robust packaging solutions.

Experience range - 1 to 10 years.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Development & Technical Excellence

• Lead packaging development from concept through prototyping, validation, scale-up, and commercialization.
• Develop robust packaging specifications covering materials, dimensions, performance, functionality, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Apply Quality by Design (QbD) principles to identify critical requirements, risks, and controls early in development.
• Drive packaging performance testing, trials, validation, and technical problem solving.

Consumer-Centric & Design-Led Innovation

• Translate consumer needs, insights, trends, and behaviors into innovative packaging solutions.
• Partner with Marketing, Consumer Insights, R&D, and Design teams to develop differentiated packaging concepts.
• Apply design-led approaches to improve usability, convenience, aesthetics, functionality, and overall consumer experience.
• Leverage consumer research and testing to validate packaging concepts and optimize solutions.

Digital & E-Commerce Validation

• Integrate digital-first validation into packaging development to accelerate learning and decision-making.
• Conduct e-commerce simulation to evaluate packaging visibility, communication, differentiation, protection, and consumer experience in digital channels.
• Leverage digital prototyping, virtual testing, and other emerging tools to reduce development timelines and physical iterations.

Quality, Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure packaging solutions meet applicable regulatory, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
• Establish appropriate technical testing and validation protocols.
• Identify and mitigate packaging risks throughout development and commercialization.
• Maintain robust technical documentation, specifications, and change controls.
• Partner with Procurement and suppliers to identify new materials, technologies, and packaging capabilities.
• Lead technical supplier evaluation, qualification, trials, and capability assessments.
• Ensure suppliers can consistently deliver packaging to required specifications, quality, cost, and scale.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during development and industrialization.

Sustainability

• Embed sustainability into packaging development and design decisions from the outset.
• Conduct sustainability assessments across materials, formats, recyclability, material efficiency, waste reduction, and lifecycle considerations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce packaging impact while maintaining product protection, quality, functionality, and consumer appeal.
• Support delivery against organizational packaging sustainability goals and evolving regulatory requirements.

Speed & Commercial Execution

• Drive agile development processes to improve speed to market without compromising quality.
• Balance consumer desirability, technical feasibility, cost, sustainability, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing scalability.
• Manage multiple packaging development projects and ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
• Lead effective cross-functional collaboration from innovation through commercialization.
