Job summary

M K Agro Tech is seeking a Packaging Development professional to create, test, and implement packaging solutions that meet product, quality, cost, safety, and sustainability requirements. You will work with R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and vendors from concept through commercialization.

You will analyze materials, prepare specifications, coordinate prototypes, run trials, drive cost reductions, ensure compliance, and maintain packaging documentation across projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or related field with hands-on packaging knowledge.
  • Experience with packaging material selection, testing, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements for packaged products.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and project-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new packaging concepts based on product and business requirements.
  • Select appropriate packaging materials, structures, and formats.
  • Prepare packaging specifications, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate with vendors for development of packaging samples and prototypes.
  • Conduct trials and evaluate packaging performance during production.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material optimization, and packaging improvement.
  • Conduct packaging testing related to strength, durability, compatibility, sealing, leakage, transportation, and shelf-life requirements.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to resolve packaging-related issues.
  • Support new product development and packaging changes from concept to commercialization.
  • Evaluate existing packaging and recommend improvements in design, functionality, and material usage.
  • Work with Procurement and suppliers for quotations, samples, trials, and technical evaluation.
  • Ensure packaging materials comply with applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, drawings, test reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Support packaging standardization across products wherever applicable.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for packaging failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor market trends, new packaging technologies, materials, and sustainable packaging solutions.
  • Ensure packaging development projects are completed within agreed timelines and budgets.

  • Knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.
  • Understanding of packaging testing and quality parameters.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good documentation and project-management skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant technical/design tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple packaging development projects simultaneously.
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology, or a related field.
  • Additional certification in Packaging Technology will be an advantage.
