Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Chief Packaging Development Officer (CPDO) to lead packaging innovation, product development, material engineering, and sustainable packaging initiatives for a leading packaging manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate will drive strategic packaging development aligned with global market trends, customer requirements, operational efficiency, and ESG goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end packaging development strategy across flexible, rigid, paper, and specialty packaging solutions.
• Drive innovation in sustainable and eco-friendly packaging materials.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, sales, procurement, and quality teams for new product development.
• Develop packaging solutions for FMCG, food & beverage, pharma, retail, and industrial clients.
• Optimize packaging performance, cost efficiency, durability, and shelf‑life standards.
• Manage packaging design validation, testing, prototyping, and commercialization.
• Oversee material selection, supplier development, and technology integration.
• Ensure compliance with global packaging regulations, food safety, and sustainability standards.
• Lead automation and smart packaging initiatives.
• Build and mentor high‑performing packaging engineering and development teams.
• Support business growth through customer‑centric packaging innovations.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Packaging Technology, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in packaging development and manufacturing.
• Strong exposure to flexible packaging, rigid packaging, laminates, printing, converting, or FMCG packaging.
• Proven leadership experience in large‑scale packaging operations.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, sustainability, automation, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience working with global clients and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent strategic planning and stakeholder management skills.
