Job summary

Dot & Key in Kolkata is seeking a Packaging Development Lead to drive end-to-end packaging development and innovation across skincare and personal care products. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Polymer Science.
• 10–12 years of experience in Packaging Development within FMCG, Personal Care, Cosmetics, Beauty, or Consumer Goods.
• Demonstrated experience in leading packaging innovation, mold development, global supplier management, and cross-functional commercialization projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end packaging development from concept to commercialization across skincare and personal care products.
• Drive mold development, qualification, and commissioning for plastic, glass, and hybrid packaging in collaboration with domestic and overseas mold manufacturers.
• Review technical drawings, 3D designs, tooling feasibility, and conduct trials to optimize mold performance and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to deliver functional, aesthetically appealing, and commercially viable packaging solutions.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with global packaging suppliers, mold makers, and contract manufacturers while driving cost optimization and timely project execution.
• Lead packaging innovation initiatives by evaluating new materials, formats, sustainable solutions, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure packaging complies with quality, regulatory, safety, and environmental standards through robust testing and validation protocols.
• Mentor and develop the packaging team, providing technical guidance, project prioritization, and capability building across multiple development programs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on packaging performance, defect reduction, productivity enhancement, and cost savings.

Job Title: Packaging Development Lead

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced and technically strong Packaging Development Lead to drive end-to-end packaging development and innovation across Dot & Key's product portfolio. The role will be responsible for leading primary and secondary packaging development, mold design and qualification, global vendor management, and packaging commercialization while ensuring quality, sustainability, and cost optimization. The incumbent will work closely with R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing teams to deliver innovative, consumer-centric packaging solutions.

Preferred Skills & Know-how:

• Strong expertise in primary packaging development, mold design, injection molding, blow molding, and packaging material science.
• Hands-on experience with packaging qualification, DOE, technical drawings, CAD tools, and packaging testing methodologies.
• Excellent project management, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven experience managing overseas vendors, commercial negotiations, and supplier development.
• Strong understanding of sustainable packaging, regulatory requirements, and packaging quality systems.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related discipline.
