Job summary

McNROE is seeking a packaging development professional to drive cost-effective packaging solutions aligned with marketing and R&D. The role involves vendor management, quality assurance, and collaboration with production to implement innovative packaging technologies.

The candidate should have a background in packaging development and hands-on experience with molding, packaging materials, and cost-focused improvements across product lines.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Packaging Development, preferably from IIP.
• Experience in packaging development management and cost-focused projects.
• Knowledge of molding, packaging and glass.
• Understanding of production, sales and R&D interfaces.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-effective new packaging per specs from marketing and R&D.
• Identify vendor procurement and ensure quality and timelines.
• Ensure defect-free packaging materials for launches.
• Provide input on materials for new briefs and drive cost reduction via modern technology.
• Create specifications for each SKU used in manufacturing and share SOPs with third-party manufacturers.
• Drive supplier relationships for innovation, troubleshooting and cost optimization.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Development of cost-effective new product packaging as per specifications of marketing and R&D department through innovative processes or innovative packaging material.

2. Identifying vendor procurement, quality control, time line management.

3. Check methods / process adopted for getting defect free packaging materials for new launches.

4. Provide input in deciding packaging materials for new briefs.

5. Innovation/renovation of existing products as per plan.

6. Collate changes effected in packaging materials & propose suitable action based on observations.

7. Drive cost reduction through modern technology.

8. Create PM specifications for each SKU that will be used for manufacturing.

9. Provide SOP and CQA to third party manufacturers with detail of test product.

10. Drive key packaging supplier relationships on innovation, troubleshooting, and cost opportunities.

11. Conduct periodical reviews of packaging materials & processes to reduce packaging material costs & wastages.

12. Plan for periodical audits at factories, vendors, depots & distributors to ensure proper quality checks.

13. Monitor compliance of protocols.

14. Establish working knowledge of latest technologies, and translates that knowledge into commercial launches.

15. Usage of latest technology for packaging molds and flexi packaging.

16. Competition benchmarking by gathering information on existing & new machine / process.

17. Find and understand new packaging technologies that may have application to business and share technical knowledge of new technology and design with the marketing team.

Personal Profile

Qualifications

• Graduation in Packaging Development, preferably from IIP.

Experience

• Proven track record as a packaging development executive or packaging development manager
• Knowledge and experience in molding, packaging & glass.
• Basic understanding of production, sales, research, etc.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems.
• Experience in developing products in a cost-effective manner.
• Sound knowledge of technological advancements, to incorporate technology with production & packaging.
• Consistent track record of designing and developing Packaging Innovation projects.
• Familiarity with automated packaging systems, labelling machines, and quality inspection equipment.
