Job summary

Instem in Pune is seeking a proactive People & Culture Generalist to manage employee inquiries, administer HR programs, and support payroll and benefits in a hybrid setup.

You will partner with regional leaders to enforce policies, handle leave and compliance, maintain personnel records, and contribute to a high-performance, growth‑oriented culture across a global company of over 400 colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate when needed, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide employee orientation and respond to HR inquiries.
• Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain policy documentation.
• Keep policies up to date and review with local regulations.
• Support payroll administration and HR data maintenance.
• Assist with global People & Culture initiatives and administration.
• Maintain electronic personnel files and assist with reporting.
• Adhere to the Quality Management System and protect data security.

The P&C Generalist will act as point of contact for all region employees, handling all employment-related inquiries from employees, and people managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide new hire orientation and assist with employee recognition programs.
• Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
• Maintain compliance and submit mandatory reporting with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
• Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Prepare and maintain the Employee Handbook.
• Assist with global People & Culture initiatives and administration.
• Maintain electronic personnel files.
• Administer payroll as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System to ensure all work is handled securely, professionally, and diligently.

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally, in relevant subject or similar equivalent experience
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
