Persistent Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Migration Architect to lead database modernization from Oracle environments to Azure SQL platforms. You will analyze schemas, convert code to Azure-compatible T-SQL, and design migration strategies for cloud-native execution.

The role requires 8–12 years of Oracle DB experience and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will work across migration assessment, validation, and deployment while ensuring performance tuning

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Oracle DB development and modernization.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle SQL/PL/SQL, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL MI.
• Experience with schema conversion, data migration testing, and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Oracle schemas, objects and dependencies for migration readiness.
• Design strategies to move Oracle DBs to Azure SQL platforms.
• Convert Oracle code to Azure-compatible T-SQL and refactor for cloud-native execution.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and migration testing to ensure functional parity.
• Collaborate with DBAs, architects, developers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Migration Architect to lead database modernization, performance optimization, and migration initiatives from Oracle environments to Azure SQL platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle database development, PL/SQL programming, database refactoring, and cloud migration strategies. This role involves redesigning legacy database solutions, modernizing data architectures, optimizing performance, and enabling successful migrations to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance. The candidate will work closely with architects, developers, DBAs, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performing, and cloud-ready database solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Analyze Oracle database schemas, database objects, and application dependencies.
• Assess Oracle packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, materialized views, sequences, and synonyms for migration readiness.
• Understand and document business logic embedded within Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code.
• Perform migration assessments, dependency analysis, impact analysis, and remediation planning.
• Design migration strategies for Oracle databases moving to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Convert Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code into Azure-compatible T-SQL solutions.
• Refactor Oracle-specific functionality and redesign database components for cloud-native execution.
• Optimize and modernize legacy database architectures to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct schema conversion, code remediation, and database modernization activities.
• Perform source-to-target data validation, reconciliation, and migration testing.
• Validate functional equivalence between Oracle and Azure database environments.
• Execute performance tuning and optimization of converted database code and workloads.
• Support migration deployment, cutover planning, go-live activities, and post-migration stabilization.
• Collaborate with DBAs, architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Create technical documentation, migration reports, architecture recommendations, and best-practice guidelines.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies related to database transformation initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement and database modernization best practices across enterprise platforms.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8–12 years of experience in Oracle Database Development, Database Architecture, and Data Modernization initiatives.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.
• Extensive experience with Oracle packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, materialized views, sequences, and synonyms.
• Proven experience analyzing complex Oracle codebases and understanding embedded business logic.
• Strong expertise in Oracle database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience working with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Strong T-SQL development, debugging, optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Oracle migrations.
• Knowledge of schema conversion, code conversion, remediation, migration testing, and validation processes.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, normalization, data modeling, and database design principles.
• Experience assessing and resolving migration challenges associated with Oracle-specific features and dependencies.
• Expertise in data migration, reconciliation, validation, and data quality processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise transformation and modernization programs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and cloud transformation initiatives.
