Job summary

Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital is seeking an Optometrist to join the Optometry / Clinical Services team. You will perform eye and vision examinations, assess refractive status, and prescribe spectacles or lenses where authorized. Requirements: 1–3 years of optometry experience and a Graduation degree.

Location: walk-in venue in Hisar, Haryana. Work mode: Office-based, full time, with patient counselling and clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Any relevant graduation degree required.
• 1–3 years of optometry experience preferred.
• Willing to travel to Hisar walk-in venue as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision testing.
• Measure near and distance visual acuity.
• Perform objective and subjective refraction.
• Identify and assess common refractive errors.
• Determine appropriate spectacle or contact lens prescriptions within professional scope.
• Perform retinoscopy and other standard optometric assessments.
• Conduct binocular vision and basic ocular function assessments as applicable.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative eye evaluations.
• Perform tonometry and other approved diagnostic tests as trained and authorized.
• Identify abnormal findings and refer patients to ophthalmologists when required.
• Explain examination findings and routine eye-care recommendations to patients.
• Assist patients with selection of suitable optical products where applicable.
• Provide guidance regarding spectacle, contact lens, and eye-care practices.
• Maintain accurate optometry examination records and patient documentation.
• Operate and maintain optometric equipment appropriately.
• Ensure cleanliness and readiness of examination areas and equipment.
• Coordinate with ophthalmologists, opticians, nurses, front office, and other staff.
• Educate patients regarding preventive eye care and follow-up requirements.
• Participate in quality audits, training, and clinical improvement activities.
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and professional standards.

Job Description

Optometrist is responsible for conducting eye and vision examinations and assessing visual function to identify refractive errors and other common vision-related conditions within professional scope. The includes visual acuity testing, refraction, preliminary eye assessment, spectacle or contact lens prescription where authorized, coordination with ophthalmologists, patient counselling, clinical documentation, and maintaining accurate, safe, and patient-focused optometry services.
