Job summary

Hinduja Tech in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, seeks an experienced Development- BIW engineer for sheet metal automotive components. You will drive development of stamping, bending, laser cutting, welding assemblies, and four-wheeler frames, ensuring quality and delivery targets are met.

Candidates should have a BE in mechanical or production engineering with 6–12 years in automotive OEM or Tier I, and strong APQP/PPAP knowledge, plus ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.

Qualifications

JOB Description : Development- BIW (Sheet Metal) _Automotive

Education: B.E Mechanical or Production Engineering

6-12 years in Automotive OEM or Tier I

Work Location : Aurangabad ( Maharashtra)

• Develop components or services in line with quality and delivery target
• Development of Automotive components in the category of sheet metal stamping, fabrication and welding assemblies
• Development experience for manufacturing process like Stamping, Bending, forming, laser cutting, CNC bending, all types of welding ( Manual and Robotic) and fasteners
• BIW, Sheet metal brackets, four- wheeler frames, Tube assemblies, exhaust systems
• Experience in development of Four wheeler Automotive components.
• Understand and interpret all manufacturing audits, including ISO 9001 and other industry standards
• Experience in APQP, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant

Skill

Proven Development experience, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.

Tooling, Raw Material and manufacturing Process Knowledge.

In depth Knowledge of manufacturing process like stamping, laser/ CNC, Welding, Fabrication and sheet metal surface treatments

Investigate quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and manage cost recovery for supplier-related problems Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities

Perform PPAP and Parts Development.

• Product Quality Planning (APQP): Drive all supplier-side activities related to APQP from the concept phase through launch. Ensure the supplier meets all technical milestones and quality gates.
• Part Approval (PPAP): Manage and approve the PPAP submission and PPAP Run for all new interior components. Verify that all part dimensions, material specifications, and performance tests are met as per the design requirements.
• Specification Review: Understand Specification & Requirements (technical drawings, GD&T, material polymer grades) and communicate them precisely to the potential suppliers.
• Quality Proving: Conduct detailed Quality proving and validation trials for new components both at the supplier site and in the in-house lab, ensuring robust processes and final product quality Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities
• Supplier Qualification: Support the Sourcing team by participating in Supplier Identification, Supplier Selection, and conducting initial Supplier Audit visits to assess process capability, manufacturing expertise, and quality management systems.

Technical Travel: Must be prepared to Travel whenever required to supplier sites for process audits, development meetings, and resolving quality or production readiness issues .Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines Keen attention to detail and accuracy
