Job summary

Merit Data & Technology is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join our office-based team in Ambattur, Chennai. The role requires 2-4 years of hands-on experience in desktop and laptop support, hardware troubleshooting, and OS/network basics.

Qualifications

• Laptop/desktop support and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and peripherals.
• Diagnose hardware, software, OS, and network-related problems.
• Install Windows OS, drivers, apps, and security updates.
• Hardware upgrades, component replacements, and preventive maintenance.
• Manage user accounts, email, printers, and shared drives.
• Provide first- and second-level end-user support.
• Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and basic connectivity issues.
• Maintain IT asset records and device inventory.
• Ensure antivirus/endpoint security and patches are up to date.
• Install standard business applications as required.
• Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims and repairs.
• Maintain service desk tickets and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Assist with deployment and onboarding of devices.

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
• Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, applications, and security updates.
• Perform hardware upgrades, replacement of components, and preventive maintenance.
• Configure user accounts, email, printers, shared drives, and other workplace applications.
• Provide first-level and second-level technical support to end users.
