Job summary

Pellera Technologies in India is seeking an IBM i Operations Engineer to manage day-to-day IBM i environments within the Managed Infrastructure Services portfolio, in a 24x7x365 delivery model, ensuring stability, performance and SLA adherence.

You will handle event monitoring, incident resolution, backup and recovery, patches, replication tools like MIMIX and QEDD, integrate with ticketing systems, document runbooks, and participate in DR testing.

Qualifications

• Experience handling IBM i operational tickets in a live environment.
• Experience with monitoring/automation tools such as Halcyon.
• Able to monitor system health, performance, and availability.
• Performs incident management and troubleshooting activities.
• Performs event management and service request fulfillment.
• Administers backup and recovery operations; monitors PTF updates.

Responsibilities

• Work in ticketing system to accept and resolve customer IBM i Operational tickets
• Experience with using monitoring or automation tools like Halcyon

Job description

The IBM Power i Operations Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operational management, monitoring, and support of IBM i (iSeries) environments within Pellera’s Managed Infrastructure Services portfolio. This role operates in a 24x7x365 managed services delivery model and is accountable for maintaining system stability, performance, availability, and adherence to customer SLAs.

The engineer will execute operational tasks including event monitoring, incident resolution, backup and recovery, patching, and replication management (e.g., MIMIX, QEDD), while integrating fully with customer ticketing systems, escalation processes, and service delivery frameworks.
