Job summary

Infosys is seeking an IBM i Administration specialist to manage production and non-production IBM i environments. You will monitor health, security, and performance while coordinating with cross-functional teams for incident resolution.

The role requires hands-on BRMS backup/recovery experience and strong system management knowledge. Responsibilities include applying PTFs, OS upgrades, IPLs, and patch management, plus maintaining job scheduling, storage, and DR readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) Administration.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i OS, system management, and administration.
• Hands-on BRMS Backup Recovery experience.
• Experience with Robot Scheduler / Job Scheduling Tools.
• Knowledge of user profiles, security administration, and access control.
• Experience with PTF installation, OS upgrades, system maintenance, and IPL activities.
• Understanding of HMC, LPAR Management, and storage administration.
• Exposure to ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request processes.

• Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and performance-related issues and conduct root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with application, database, network, and support teams for incident resolution and service delivery.

Technical Requirement

• Experience in IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) Administration.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i operating systems, system management, and administration.
• Hands-on experience with BRMS Backup Recovery.
• Experience with Robot Scheduler / Job Scheduling Tools.
• Knowledge of user profile management, security administration, and access control.
• Experience in PTF installation, OS upgrades, system maintenance, and IPL activities.
• Understanding of HMC, LPAR Management, and storage administration.
• Exposure to Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management processes (ITIL).

Additional Responsibility

• Experience with tape management, media management, and DR testing activities.
• Knowledge of printer management, output queue administration, and subsystem monitoring.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, job queues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Exposure to HA/DR solutions such as MIMIX and IBM Power Systems environments would be an added advantage.
