Overview
The candidate should have proven hands on experience in deploying IBM Power Systems IBM AIX OS & Linux (SUSE; RHEL etc.) operating systems to a variety of technology and business clients. Must have a blend of technical knowledge, business knowledge (Pre-Sales) and effective communication skills for this role. The role will be expected to work in a positive and collaborative fashion with fellow team members, senior engineering/architect staff, vendors, and customers
Technical Skills Required (Must Have)
- 8+ years of hands-on working experience, should have done real time deployments, day to day operations, security; OS patch updates and support of :-
- IBM Power Systems (Power 5/7/8/9 etc.)
- IBM AIX Operating Systems (6.1/7.1/7.2/7.3 etc.)
- IBM Power Linux; SUSE on IBM Power
- Open Source Linux (SUSE; RHEL etc.) Operating systems
- Should have an expertise in :-
- AIX OS Migration from AIX 5.3/6.1 to AIX 7.1/7.2 & IBM Power Systems technology refresh from POWER4/5/6 to POWER7/8/9 systems.
- Migrate legacy HACMP and Power HA versions from 5.4/5.5/6.1 to Power HA 7.1/7.2.
- Managing HMC (and managing via HMC-Command line), Virtual I/O servers (VIOS) and AIX LPARs in POWER8/9 systems.
- Deploying & maintaining Power virtualization (VIOS) and VMware virtualization.
- System Mirror and SUSE Pacemaker cluster.
Technical Skills Required (Optional, having them could be an added advantage)
- 3+ Years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating system, Linux operating system & other hypervisors (Hyper-V, KVM, AHV etc.)
- 3+ Years of good exposure and mixed working experience on Storage (IBM, Dell EMC, NetApp etc.), Compute (Lenovo/IBM/HP/Dell Servers etc.) and Backup domains (Veritas, Commvault, ArcServe, Veeam etc.)
Technical Certifications
- IBM Certified AIX System Administrator
- IBM Power servers certified System Administrator
- RHEL/SLES Linux Certified System administrator
- IBM Storage Administrator

Additional Skills
- Should be able to Architect and Design IBM Power environments depending on the ask & pain areas of the customers
- Demonstrate technical leadership in understanding Datacenter practices and application workloads
- Excellent customer service skills with strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule that may include nights, weekends or holidays as required
- Must be process and detail oriented with the ability to multitask; strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine problems and act without supervision
- Must be self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies and skills to better assist customers.
- Should be able to showcase or conduct Product POCs (Proof of Concept) to colleagues & customers
- Should be able to collaborate extensively with peers in other infrastructure disciplines in developing designs, implementation plans and support strategies.
- Must be good in documenting the system configuration & project deployments done.
- This experience should include the planning, deployment, configuration and administration of heterogeneous virtual environment/s.
- Should be comfortable and good at articulating technology to the customers.
