Job summary

TalentAhead is seeking a senior Structural Engineer for offshore wind projects in Chennai, India. The role involves reviewing deliverables, planning resources, and coordinating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure timely completion with high quality.

The candidate will guide a team of structural engineers and designers, review calculations using SACS/ANSYS/SESAM, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards while maintaining safety and QA.

Qualifications

• Experience with offshore wind structural design and analysis.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (EN, DIN, ISO, NORSOK, API, AISC, AWS, DNV, ABS).
• Experience with quality assurance and OH&S procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify structural deliverables and review for completeness and schedule adherence.
• Plan, mobilize resources, and coordinate with client, detailed design team, yards, and construction team.

Role & responsibilities

Scope Of Work* Primary Shared Across Functionally

• Identify Structural Engineering Deliverable and review to ensure completeness and compliance to schedule and report progress on engineering deliverables.
• Proactively Plan, Mobilize resources, Co-ordinate with all stakeholders like Client, Detailed design team, Yards, Const. team, etc.
• Participate/Support detailed Engineering and perform checks of Structural engineering drawings and calculations /SACS/ SESAM/ANSYS Models of Structural discipline of Topsides and Jackets for offshore wind platforms.
• Capable of delivering documents independently with utmost quality.
• Guide team of Structural engineers & designers for complete Project/Engineering cycle.
• Coordination with Engineering contractor or Engineering department and client for comments resolution and approval of the Drgs/documents.

Relationships Management* Internal External

• Interaction with multi-discipline LEs and Project Team Interaction with Client/PMC/PMT/Vendors/Yard

Key Result Areas*

• Review of MTOs for Structural Bulk and Specialty items, Preparation of RFQ for Structural Fabrication at Fabrication yard and RFQ for Offshore hook up work.
• Ensure compatibility of the design with other engineering disciplines and ensure that the Structural system design meets the requirements of the client/ operability and regulatory organizations, etc.
• Raise service RFQ’s as per tender conditions.
• Responsible for Lifting, Rigging, Load out, Transport & Installation conceptualization, RFQ preparation,
• Discussion with respective agencies
• Plan and Lead Infrastructural devploment related activities like Workshops including cranes, different types of Housings, Material Movements, etc.

• Structural Engineers for Offshore Wind Projects.
• Conversant with structural steel design and analysis, welding design, stiffened plate, shell finite element analysis and hydrodynamics loading using EN, DIN, ISO, NORSOK, API, AISC, AWS, DNV, ABS and other applicable codes and standards.
• Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the quality assurance system relevant to the project,
• Responsible for personal safety, safe working practices for the project.
• Experience with Stressed skin design and construction of panels, units and blocks of Ships & offshore topsides
• Knowledge of Various structural analysis and knowledge of Sesam, ANSYS, SACS for Structural modeling
• Experience in quality control aspects and guiding the team with proper checking procedures
• Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
