Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Delhi seeks a Fire & Safety professional to lead FSO reporting and building management duties. You will oversee fire pump room operations, smoke ventilation, and common safety tasks while coordinating evacuation drills and safety training for guards and clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evacuation drills for building and emergency response plan for clients
• Provide training/briefing of guards on fire safety and security
• Inspect pump room equipment and ensure readiness of fire pumps, gauges and alarms
• Coordinate with security and facilities teams for 24/7 safety operations
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement preventive measures
• Ensure fire safety signage, PPE checks and safe access to exits

Description

Fire Pump Room Responsibilities

• Ensure all pumps are in working condition / auto mode
• Ensure pressure gauges are working
• Ensure Gong bell is operational
• Check diesel pump engine oil level and condition
• Check diesel engine battery condition
• Ensure all valves in the pump room are open
• Ensure diesel tank levels are at least 80%
• Ensure daily checklist is signed by shift fireman
• Ensure all first aid and firefighting equipment is serviceable 24/7
• Ensure fire water tank level is adequate
• Ensure beacon lights for pumps are working
• Ensure pumps are leakage free

Smoke Ventilation/Pressurization System Responsibilities

• Ensure all fresh air fans are in auto mode
• Ensure all smoke exhaust fans are in auto mode
• Ensure all pressurization fans are in auto mode
• Ensure all normal exhaust fans are in auto mode

Common Responsibilities

• Conduct evacuation drills for building and emergency response plan for clients
• Ensure smooth operation of traffic checks, guard duties and posts
• Provide training/briefing of guards on fire safety and security
• Inspect hot work areas
• Check PPE at the site
• Issue different types of permits
• Perform safety inspection and maintain fire and security standards
• Check all indicator bulbs
• Check mat in front of electrical panel
• Check drain condition
• Ensure appropriate signage (no smoking, floor signs, panic bars, floor layout, exit signage)
• Keep lift lobby and fire exits clear of obstacles
• Break hammer in place for FHC documentation and maintenance of equipment and systems
• Check terrace area and staircase
• Check all emergency exits in the building
• Conduct quarterly evacuation drills of clients
• Attend HSE meetings and address HSE issues
• Participate in near miss, incident and accident investigations
• Participate in emergency exercises
• Ensure incidents are investigated promptly and take preventive measures
• Attend safety committee meetings
• Ensure observations are completed on time
• Spread safety procedures and safety awareness across team
• Verify all fire line valves (hydrant and sprinkler lines) are open
• Observe unsafe acts and report to management following engineering guidelines and safety management system
