Job summary

Appsierra Group in Delhi is seeking a Fire Safety Officer to implement fire prevention measures, conduct inspections, educate staff and the public on fire safety, and maintain comprehensive records of incidents and training.

You will lead firefighting and emergency responses, oversee equipment upkeep, and coordinate mock drills to ensure safe evacuation procedures are understood by all in the coaching center.

Responsibilities

• Conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Responsible for testing, maintenance, rectification, and closure of audit observations.
• Provide training to staff and students on fire safety and evacuation procedures.
• Maintain records of incidents, training, and equipment inspections.
• Inspect and report malfunctioning critical fire safety equipment.
• Monitor Fire Alarm System and line pressure.
• Lead and coordinate firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical responses.
• Ensure implementation of Fire safety management plan on ground.
• Oversee upkeep and serviceability of equipment in designated area.
• Assist in Mock Drills and evacuations training.

Job description

Job Purpose :

Fire Prevention: Implement and enforce fire prevention measures, conduct inspections, and educate the public about fire safety to minimize fire hazards and risks.

Job Responsibilities :

• 1. Conducting regular inspections to ensure the center complies with fire safety regulations, including checking fire exits, alarm systems, fire pump and fire extinguishers.
• 2. Responsible for all testing, Preventive maintenance, upkeep, rectification of equipment, closure of all observations made during inspections, and closure of all audit observations.
• 3. Providing training to staff and students on fire safety measures, evacuation procedures, and the use of firefighting equipment.
• 4. Maintaining records of incidents, training, equipment inspection & maintenance, and other activities.
• 5. Inspection and reporting of malfunctioning critical fire safety equipment.
• 6. Monitoring of Fire Alarm System and fire line pressure regularly.
• 7. Leading and coordinating firefighting, rescue operations, and emergency medical responses.
• 8. Ensure implementation of Fire safety management plan on ground.
• 9. Responsible for upkeep and serviceability of equipment installed in designated area assigned.
• 10. Assist the HOD in the Mock Drills and oversee that everyone in the coaching center knows how to evacuate safely in case of an emergency.

Specific Knowledge & Skills :

• 1. Firefighting Techniques: Understanding different firefighting methods, including the use of water, foam, and other fire-suppressing agents.
• 2. Fire Behaviour: Knowledge of how fire spreads and the factors that influence it.
• 3. Building Construction: Understanding building materials and construction methods to predict fire behaviour and potential hazards.
• 4. Hazardous Materials: Identification and handling of hazardous substances, including chemicals and gases.
• 5. Fire Prevention: Strategies to prevent fires and educate the public on fire safety.
• 6. Firefighting Equipment: Operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment, such as Extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, pumps etc.
• 7. Incident Command: Knowledge of incident command systems and ability to coordinate and lead during emergencies.
• 8. Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team, following orders and coordinating with others.

Major KRA :

• 1. Fire Prevention: Conduct inspections of buildings and facilities to identify fire hazards and educate the people about fire safety practices and prevention techniques.
• 2. Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain firefighting equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.
• 3. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls and participate in firefighting operations to control and extinguish the fire.
• 4. Training and Drills: Participate in regular training sessions and drills to maintain skills and knowledge and stay updated on the latest firefighting techniques and safety procedures.
• 5. Incident Reporting: Complete accurate and detailed reports of incidents and firefighting activities and document any injuries, equipment damage, or unusual occurrences
