Job summary

EDAG Group in Maharashtra, India, is seeking an Exterior Trims Product Design Engineer to join our automotive design team. You will contribute to the design and development of exterior body components such as bumpers, grills, and claddings, ensuring feasibility and compliance with ECE regulations.

You will perform concept proposals, packaging studies, DFx considerations, and benchmarking of exterior systems, using CAD software (NX) and Office 365, collaborating with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience in exterior product design and development for automotive applications.
• Knowledge of benchmarking exterior systems is required.
• Style surface feasibility and analysis including draft, tooling feasibility, and ECE regulation evaluation.
• Ability to prepare concept proposals and conduct packaging studies.
• Experience in DFx (Design for Manufacturing, assembly & serviceability).
• Knowledge of tooling, fixings, materials, GD&T, DFMEA, DVP is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop exterior trims such as front/rear bumper, radiator grill, and claddings.
• Conduct concept feasibility studies and prepare packaging studies.
• Perform DFx evaluations and ensure manufacturability of exterior components.
• Benchmark exterior systems and support design validation with OEMs/Tier 1 suppliers.

• Should be excellent in Exteriors Product Design & Development.
• Knowledge & Experience in Benchmarking of Exterior systems
• Experience in Style Surface Feasibility & Analysis i.e. checking Draft, Tooling Feasibility, ECE Regulation Evaluation, creating concept proposals Packaging Study with surrounding parts.
• Work on concept feasibility and prepare concept proposals. Conduct Packaging Study.
• Should have experience in DFx (Design for Mfg, assembly & Serviceability)
• Knowledge in tooling, fixings, Materials, GD&T, stack up DFMEA, DVP etc. will be preferable.
