Job summary

MetaforgeIT solutions in Chennai is seeking an Exterior Plastic Trim Design Engineer with 3–8 years of experience to design and develop automotive exterior components such as bumpers, grilles, claddings, fenders, and mirror sail panels using Siemens NX. Candidate should have a BE in Mechanical Engineering and knowledge of GD&T.

This role requires hands-on creation of 3D models and 2D drawings, along with packaging studies and design updates, collaborating with Styling, CAE, Manufacturing,

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–8 years of experience in exterior plastic trim design.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and GD&T standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive exterior components such as bumpers, grilles, claddings, fenders, cowl covers, mirror sail panels, and other plastic trim parts.
• Preferred experience in bumper systems, grilles, exterior plastic trims, and OEM vehicle development projects.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using NX.
• Perform packaging studies, clash checks, feasibility studies, and design updates.
• Apply plastic product design guidelines, DFM/DFA, and GD&T standards.
• Work closely with Styling, CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers for product development and validation.
• Support engineering change management and product release activities
