Job summary

TekPillar is seeking an Automotive Design Engineer for Exterior Trims in Pune. You will lead the design and development of body exterior trim components including bumpers, grilles, and claddings, with focus on plastic parts and injection molding.

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of experience in Automotive Body Exterior Trim Design & Development.
• Strong experience in plastic component design, injection molding, and tooling development.
• Hands-on expertise in UG NX and Teamcenter/PLM.
• Good knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFM/DFM A, DFMEA, APQP, DV/PV, and engineering release processes
• Experience with supplier management, technical reviews, root cause analysis, and product launch.
• ENOVIA experience preferred; CATIA exposure is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of automotive Body Exterior Trim components such as bumpers, grilles, wheel arch flares, claddings, spoilers, roof rails, and plastic components.
• Perform concept development, feasibility studies, package reviews, and design optimization.
• Apply DFM/DFM A, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and APQP principles.
• Work on plastic part design, injection molding, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Manage engineering releases, BOMs, ECRs, design changes, and product documentation.
• Support DV/PV validation, quality improvement, supplier coordination, and product launch activities.
• Collaborate with Styling, Vehicle Integration, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers.
• Drive improvements in cost, weight, quality, manufacturability, and product performance.
