Nursing Staff - Casualty is responsible for providing immediate nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergency medical conditions. The includes patient assessment, triage support, monitoring, emergency interventions, medication administration, documentation, and coordination with emergency doctors and other healthcare teams.

  • Provide immediate nursing care to patients in the casualty department.
  • Assist with triage and prioritization of patients according to clinical urgency.
  • Assess and monitor vital signs and clinical condition.
  • Administer prescribed emergency medications and treatments.
  • Assist doctors during emergency procedures and resuscitation.
  • Monitor patient response to emergency interventions.
  • Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, and urgent treatment.
  • Maintain readiness of emergency equipment, medicines, and supplies.
  • Support CPR and resuscitation activities within professional scope.
  • Identify deterioration in patient condition and escalation promptly.
  • Maintain accurate casualty records, nursing notes, and treatment documentation.
  • Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, OT, and other departments.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, referral, and discharge processes.
  • Maintain infection-control and patient-safety practices.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and documentation.
  • Provide appropriate support and communication to patients and attendants.
  • Participate in emergency drills and disaster-management activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the casualty area.
  • Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Follow emergency-care protocols, hospital SOPs, and professional nursing standards.
