Job summary

Zydushospitals is seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee a unit, ensuring 24x7 staffing, high-quality patient care, and adherence to hospital standards. You will collaborate with consultants, guide staff, and drive policy-compliant care delivery across shifts.

Your role includes coordinating equipment, supervising nurses, and mentoring team members to maintain safe, ethical, and patient-centered care within established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update inventory time to time.
• Keep proper record of consumptions.
• Provide 24x7 nursing care in an assigned unit.
• Schedule nursing personnel to ensure adequate staffing for each shift 24x7.
• Collaborate with unit nurses in determining and obtaining equipment and supplies for patient care.
• Guide nursing staff in identifying patient and companion needs.
• Participate in setting patient care standards and counsel relatives when required.
• Coordinate with consultants to ensure good nursing care is provided.
• Provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit according to standards and procedures.
• Inform Lead – Nursing Services regarding unit issues and needs, review and recommending policy changes.
• Assist Lead – Nursing Services in investigations and resolving problems related to incidents, infections and complaints.
• Assist Lead – Nursing Services in justification for ordering equipment and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with quality and accreditation standards.
• Identify internal controls for department to monitor and enforce compliance.
• Maintain highest standards of ethical medical practices in the hospital.
• Ensure proper disposal of sharps and hospital waste.
• Provide orientation to nursing personnel about hospital philosophies and procedures for patient care and family interactions.

Inform Lead – Nursing Servicesregarding nursing unit issues and needs, review and recommending changes in thepolicies and procedures.

Assist the Lead – NursingServices in the investigation of reports of incidents, suspected infections andpatient/doctor complaints and resolves problems or recommend probable action.

Assist Lead – Nursing Servicesin justification in the ordering of equipment and supplies required by theunits.

Ensure compliance with qualityand accreditation standards.

Identify appropriate internalcontrols for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Ensure highest standards ofethical medical practices in the hospital.

Ensure the proper disposable ofsharps and hospital waste.

Take responsibility for the Sr.Nurses / Nurses who reports to the position.

Provide on job orientation tonursing personnel and keep them informed of the philosophies, policy andprocedures to be followed in caring for patients and their families.
