Job summary

Rajshree Precision in India seeks an NPD Engineer with 5+ years in NPD or tool rooms, focusing on press tools, dies, moulds, or precision-machined parts. End-to-end development from data review to production handover is required, with emphasis on feasibility and planning.

You will work with VMC, CNC turning, EDM, wire-cut, grinding; perform DFM reviews, and prepare process sheets, jig/fixture designs, and PPAP/APQP documentation. CAD/GD&T skills and an engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in NPD or tool room – press tools, dies, moulds or precision machined parts.
• Hands-on machining across VMC, CNC turning, EDM, wire-cut, grinding and jig boring.
• Process planning from blank to finish with tolerance stack-up and distortion allowances.
• 2D CAD: AutoCAD; 3D CAD: SolidWorks / NX / Creo / CATIA.
• GD&T reading and application (ISO 1101 / ASME Y14.5).
• Diploma or BE in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Study customer data, conduct DFM review, and flag tolerance and feasibility issues before quoting.
• Prepare process sheets detailing operation sequence, datum strategy, machining allowances, cycle times, tool and fixture lists.
• Design and specify jigs, fixtures, and gauges; coordinate with tool design and CNC programming.
• Drive trials, first-off inspection, PPAP/APQP documentation, and handover to production.
• Root-cause dimensional rejections and revise processes using CMM/layout data.

About the Role

Own new part and tool development end to end - from customer data review through process planning, trials, and handover to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Study customer 2D/3D data, conduct DFM review, and flag tolerance and feasibility issues before quoting
• Prepare process sheets covering operation sequence, datum/locating strategy, machining allowances, cycle times, and tool and fixture lists
• Design and specify jigs, fixtures, and gauges; coordinate with tool design and CNC programming
• Drive trials, first-off inspection, PPAP/APQP documentation, and handover to production
• Root-cause dimensional rejections and revise processes based on CMM/layout data

Requirements

• 5+ years in NPD or tool room - press tools, dies, moulds, or precision machined parts
• Hands-on machining depth across VMC, CNC turning, EDM, wire-cut, surface and cylindrical grinding, and jig boring, with a clear understanding of what each process can and cannot hold
• Process planning from blank to finish, including tolerance stack-up and heat-treatment distortion allowance
• 2D: AutoCAD. 3D: SolidWorks / NX / Creo / CATIA
• GD&T reading and application (ISO 1101 / ASME Y14.5)
• Diploma or BE in Mechanical or Production Engineering
