Job summary

Destiny Careers Solutions is seeking an experienced NPD Engineer for sheet metal to drive new product development from concept to production, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

You will design sheet metal parts, assemblies, prepare BOMs, DFMs and coordinate with production, quality, vendors to ensure timely launches and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience leading New Product Development (NPD) projects for sheet metal products.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design principles, fabrication processes and GD&T.
• Ability to create 3D models, detail drawings and BOMs for production.
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP and PFMEA in an automotive or manufacturing context.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with design, production,Quality and suppliers.
• Experience with design for manufacturability and cost optimization.
• Experience with ECN/ECR processes and engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Develop new sheet metal products from customer concepts and drawings.
• Create 3D models, sheet metal parts and assemblies with manufacturing drawings.
• Prepare BOMs, fabrication drawings and DXF files for production.
• Perform feasibility studies and ensure DFM principles are applied.
• Coordinate prototype development, testing and validation activities.
• Support tooling, fixture and gauge development.
• Manage ECN/ECR processes and engineering changes.
• Collaborate with production, quality, procurement and suppliers to ensure on-time launches.
• Improve product quality, manufacturability and cost through design optimization.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs and quality standards.

Professional Summary

Mechanical Engineer with experience in New Product Development (NPD), Sheet Metal Design, and Product Development. Skilled in developing new products from concept to production using SolidWorks/ and AutoCAD. Experienced in sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, and assembly. Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFM, BOM preparation, prototype development, engineering change management, and manufacturing process optimization. Capable of coordinating with design, production, quality, vendors, and customers to ensure successful product launches.
