Job summary

Fossil Group in Solan is seeking Design & Development engineers to transform concepts into 3D models and detailed specifications. You will generate BOMs, work on DFMEA/GD&T, and coordinate with suppliers for cost optimisations.

Role covers sheet metal tooling, sample development, and PPAP-like activities, ensuring first-time acceptance and quality improvements at vendor and in-house facilities. Based in Himachal Pradesh.

Qualifications

• Experience on NPD (New Product Development) process and converting concepts/sketches into 3D models for manufacturing.
• Generation of detailed BOM and drawings/specifications based on concept sketches.
• Experience with ECR/ECN and product refinement from design reviews and user inputs.
• Knowledge of GD&T and its usage would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and its usage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Detailed BOM and Product costing; work with suppliers for cost reductions (VA/VE).
• Broad knowledge of sheet metal (press), cold forging and injection molding tooling.
• Work with teams to create and ship samples (photo, salesman, technical); focus on first-time acceptance.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely availability of sample components; ensure quality improvements at vendor and in-house.

Product Design

• 1. Experience onNPD(New product development) process,2. Product Costing

• Preparation of Detailed BOM & Product costing.Working with suppliers for Cost reduction, VA, VE.

Development

• Broad knowledge of sheet metal (press), cold forging and injection molding tooling.
• Work with teams to create & ship all types of samples (photo, salesman & technical).
• Focused on First time acceptance of samples
• Close working with suppliers for timely availability of sample components.
• Responsible for quality improvement in the product at the vendor end and in-house.

SAP & Data management

• To create material master for new projects & update in SAP-To Create BOM in SAP-To create master data for Info records in SAP.- To create master data for Standard cost records in SAP-Updation of sample status in Forrus

Pilot Lot/hand over/PPAP

• Studyrequirementfor new processes,inspection, tools, fixtures etc during sample making.Time study & balancing of processes used for new projectsPilot Lot tracking and Quality improvements

Education Background B.E Mechanical/Diploma Mech or Mechatronics

Experiencerequired

• B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical)3-4 Years Diploma (Mechanical/Mechatronics) - 4-6 yrsExperience of at least 3-4 yrs in Solidworks in Design & Drafting + AutoCAD

Age 24-28 years

Extra Expectation

• Knowledge of Fixture Designing will be an advantage
• Well versed in Surfacing in solidworks & Capable of generation of complicated profiles
• Other Software skills Google Sheet/Doc / MS Excel and PowerPoint & Corel Draw
