Job summary

Layam in India’s Chennai district seeks a seasoned professional to support forging, heat treatment and machining development. You will read 2D drawings, select inspection equipment and perform first principles inspection of forging and machining components.

You have knowledge of steel chemistry, microstructure and properties, and you will champion supplier activities to meet development timelines while coordinating with the team and performing advanced data compilation in MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading 2D drawings with symbols, annotations, tolerances and special requirements.
• Ability to identify inspection equipment per DWG requirements (dimensions and tolerances).
• Experience in first principles inspection of forging and machining components.
• Understanding of steel chemistry, microstructure, mechanical & physical properties.
• Expertise in layout inspection with detailed reports.
• Ability to champion and drive supplier activities to meet development timelines.
• Exposure to APQP, DFM, PPAP activities.
• Proficient in data compilation using MS Excel.

• EXPERIENCED IN READING 2D DWG (SYMBOLS, ANOTATION, TOELRNACES & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
• EXPERTISE IN IDENTIFYING INSPECTION EQUIPMENT FOR INSPECTION AS PER THE DWG REQUIREMENTS(DIM & TOELRNACES)
• EXPERIENCED IN FIRST PRINCIPLE INSPECTION OF FORGING, MACHINING, COMODITIY PARTS
• UNDERSTANDING ON STEEL CHEMISTRY, MICROSTRUCTURE/MECHANICAL RPOERTIES & PHYSICAL PROPOERTIES
• EXPERTISE IN LAYOUT INSPECTION OF PARTS WITH DETIALED REPORT
• TO CHAMPION & DRIVE SUPPLIER ACTIVTIES TO MEET DEVELOPMENT TIME LINE
• EXPOSED TO APQP , DFM , PPAP ACTIVTIES
• CORDINATION WITH TEAM FOR DATA COMPIALTION -ADVANCED EXCELL USER
• EXPERIENCED IN FIRST PRINCIPLE INSPECTION OF CASTING,MACHINING COMPONENETS
• BASIC KNOWLEDGE OVER CASTING , FORGING, MACHINING, FABRICATION PROCESS & TOOL INVOLVED IN DEVELOPMENT.
• Expertise in MS OFFICE package
