Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled network professional with strong routing and switching expertise for data center and cloud environments. You will engage in design, implementation and troubleshooting across Cisco platforms and modern virtualization stacks.

The role emphasizes collaboration with customers, early involvement in workshop settings, and a focus on emerging technologies like SDA/SD-WAN and automation tooling. Experience with OpenStack or VMware is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies (IGP, OSPF, BGP, STP/RSTP, VLAN, VXLAN) and data center constructs (ACI, Nexus).
• Experience with Cisco switching platforms (Cat 6500/6800/Nexus 7K/5K/3K) and related testing.
• Exposure to virtualization and cloud topics (OpenStack, VMware, KVM) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, install, test and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches.
• Provide network solutions for data center and cloud environments.
• Engage in high-level and low-level network design discussions with customers.
• Lead workshops and contribute to customer architectures and roadmaps.
• Apply emerging technologies such as SDA/SD-WAN and network automation tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Knowledge on Routing and switching Technologies like IGP, OSPF, EGP, BGP, STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN


• Knowledge on Data Center, Cloud and Virtualization industry, ACI, Nexus products


• Experienced Knowledge on LAN SW Technologies like STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN, VXLAN-EVPN, DCNM, OTV, Fex, Fabricpath, VXlan, LISP.


• Knowledge of Cisco switching Platforms like Cat 6500, 6800, 4500, 3850, Nexus 7K, Nexus 5k, Nexus 3K and Nexus9k (standalone and ACI)


• Experience in installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting and/or Network solution designing of Cisco routers and switch

Desired Skills (Good to have as value add to this role)

• Prior experience of conducting customer workshops, High level and low level network design experience would be preferred.


• Experience with Virtualization (OpenStack / VMware vSphere / Microsoft Hyper V / Red Hat KVM / Linux Containers etc) CX Centres Professional Services Consolidated


• Routing & Switching Ent Domain


• Knowledge of emerging technologies like SDA/ SDWAN preferred


• Knowledge of UCS products and Hyperflex , DCNM, Nexus Dashboard


• Network automation skills preferred (Python/ Ansible/ GoLang/ Splunk)
