Job summary

Chennai City Corporation is seeking a network engineer to design, implement, and secure complex LAN/WAN architectures and related services. You will work with firewalls, routing, switching, and security best practices to deliver reliable, scalable networking solutions across municipal infrastructure.

The role requires strong TCP/IP expertise, experience with SDN (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX), scripting (Python, Ansible), and familiarity with cloud networking in AWS/Azure, plus relevant Cisco

Qualifications

• Experience with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI and VMware NSX.
• Hands-on scripting/automation is a plus (Python, Ansible).
• Experience with load balancing technologies (F5, Netscaler, A10).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP/CCDP, CCIE or CCDE desired.
• Experience designing and implementing AWS and Azure networking solutions including VPCs and VNets.
• Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure Direct Connect and ExpressRoute for hybrid cloud.

• Network engineering, design,and architecture expertise with exposure to two or more of the following areas:LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, security, VOIP, QoS, and encryption technologieswhile adhering to standard design methodologies and best practices
• Mastery of TCP/IP protocolcommunications, addressing & subnetting
• Firewall experience:Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco’sproduct portfolio; routers, switches, wireless, ACS and ISE
• Extensive knowledge of Networkdiagnostics, protocols, and disciplines, EIGRP, BGP, eBGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, andMPLS technologies.
• Advanced, Knowledge of routingand switching protocols
